Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Parts Manager to oversee the parts sales department for our McCormick Agricultural Machinery Dealership under Kerchanshe Group. The Parts Manager will be responsible for ordering, managing, and ensuring the availability of spare parts for McCormick tractors and other agricultural machinery. This role is critical in managing parts procurement from suppliers, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring timely replenishment. The Parts Manager will also be responsible for training and motivating the sales team, setting sales targets, and ensuring their successful implementation. Strong leadership, inventory management skills, and a deep understanding of the agricultural machinery sector will be essential to the success of this position.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Parts Procurement and Ordering:

    • Order spare parts directly from suppliers, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of essential components for McCormick tractors and agricultural machinery.

    • Prepare and manage regular order lists using appropriate shipping methods (sea, air, or courier freight), ensuring parts are available to meet customer demand.

  2. Supplier Relationship Management:

    • Maintain strong communication with suppliers to ensure smooth and efficient parts procurement and resolve any issues that may arise.

    • Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable delivery timelines.

  3. Sales Team Leadership:

    • Lead, train, and motivate the parts sales team, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to meet sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.

    • Set clear sales targets for the team and closely monitor progress to ensure goals are achieved.

  4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Take full responsibility for the success or failure of the parts department, implementing necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and drive growth.

    • Prepare and present detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly inventory and sales reports to senior management, offering insights into sales performance, inventory trends, and customer demands.

  5. Inventory Management:

    • Continuously monitor and replenish parts inventory to meet customer demands and prevent stockouts.

    • Implement effective inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce excess inventory, minimizing carrying costs.

  6. Pricing and Sales Strategies:

    • Ensure pricing strategies are competitive and aligned with business goals, while also taking market conditions and competitor activities into account.

    • Develop promotional strategies and discounts to enhance parts sales, working closely with the sales and marketing teams.

  7. Collaboration with Other Departments:

    • Collaborate with the sales, service, and operations teams to ensure smooth workflow and enhance customer satisfaction.

    • Work with the service department to ensure parts availability for repairs and service needs.

  8. Market Trends and Competitive Analysis:

    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in parts offerings.

    • Keep track of industry developments and technological advancements to stay competitive in the agricultural machinery sector.

Job Requirements

  1. Education:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.

  2. Experience:

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in parts operations and sales within the agricultural machinery, automotive, or related industries.

    • At least 4years in a managerial role, demonstrating leadership and team management experience.

  3. Industry Knowledge:

    • Proven experience in managing parts operations for agricultural machinery, with in-depth knowledge of parts procurement, inventory management, and sales processes.

  4. Skills:

    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage large inventories and ensure the smooth operation of the parts department.

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills to inspire and guide the sales team.

    • Strong analytical skills to prepare inventory and sales reports, monitor trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  5. Technical Proficiency:

    • Familiarity with inventory management systems and software to streamline ordering, tracking, and reporting processes.

    • Ability to work with various shipping and logistics methods to manage parts procurement efficiently.

  6. Customer Focus:

    • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
