The Factory Manager is responsible for directing, coordinating, and managing the overall factory activities.  He is also duty-bound to ensure that the factory’s production objectives are achieved at the lowest cost consistent with quality requirements while maintaining compliance to national and regional food safety, occupational safety & environmental regulations and laws. In managing the factory, he delegates responsibility and works with key managers in production, quality assurance, maintenance, human resource, and other related functions of the factory to achieve the desired objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinates with the CEO and other departments in the execution of manufacturing plans based on sales requirements and factory capacity; 

• Confers with different managers, their subordinates and other factory personnel on the application of continuous improvement methods, meeting production standards, ensuring quality, reducing cost, and managing human resources;

• Oversees the maintenance of buildings and equipment, and ensures factory security and protection; 

• Required to initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, safety, and quality in general;

• Required to represent the organization in the community and promote goodwill and interests in community activities; and

• Discharges other duties and responsibilities as may be required and as may be assigned by the CEO.

Job Requirements

Education

• B.A/M.A degree in chemical or industrial engineering or any other related field of study. 

Experience

• Minimum of 10/8 years of experience in the field from which 5 years are in food and beverages industries on Senior Management position. 

• Proven track record of managing factories in the beverages and bottled water sectors in particular. 

Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical, conflict management, and problem-solving skills;

• Knowledge of planning and Performance management;

• Decision-making and leadership skills;

• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills;

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams;

• Knowledge of factory management.
