Job Description
Hope for Justice Vision is to live in a world free from slavery and its mission statement is bringing freedom from human trafficking and modern slavery by identifying victims, supporting survivors and preventing exploitation.
Department: Programmes
Reporting to: Programmes Manager
Contract Duration: 3 (three) years with possibility of extension
Job Purpose:
Manage all Lighthouse activities/programs (security, feeding, medical, education, sports/recreation, life-skills, counselling, social work activities)
Create an environment that safeguards the children, as well as all staff and visitors, and rigorously implement the Hope for Justice Child Safeguarding Policy.
Ensure child participation in all aspects of the program and create ways to get feed-back from the children and careers that inform all aspects of program planning and implementation
Programmatic:
Implement all programs within budget cost
Ensure all programs meet their targets as outlined in the Country Business Plan for each year.
Supervise and line manage relevant staff (following organizational structure), reporting significant issues to the Programmes Manager
Contribute to regular monitoring and evaluation, including monthly reports
Write Friday Bulletins (using template) each Friday morning and send to the program manager.
Chair and record minutes of weekly staff meetings in the Lighthouse
Host visits from donors, other NGOs, GoE stakeholders, and other interested people and write a report and send it to the program Manager within one week of the visit. Liaise with the Programme Manager about all visits.
Organise Child Care Reviews every six weeks for children in the lighthouse to review their progress and plan their transition.
Complete quarterly checks (using the checklist) of all services of the Lighthouse to maintain Hope for Justices’ standards and quality services.
Update referral network and establish referral points for children requiring care/referral outside of the scope of Hope for Justice in consultation with Programme Manager
Complete any other assessments of children/families as requested by Programme Manager
Organize program team meeting agenda including information sharing and developing agendas for partner dialogues and roundtables in the Lighthouse
Assist in timely submission of quarterly, semi-annual and final reports for donors and government
Child Safeguarding
Maintain policies, procedures and systems that provide the requisite safeguarding measures for children accessing our services in collaboration with the Country Designated Safgeuarding Officer.
Administrative
Prepare project proposals and annual plan for the Government in collaboration with Programme Manager
Prepare first draft of reports for government agencies and donors.
Prepare monthly cash request and send to Programme Manager
Facilitate mid-term and terminal evaluations and new project agreements as required.
Assists the programme team to maintain and update the social media, carries out specific web searches and downloads workshop documents
Conduct one-to-one supervision and line management for department heads
Liaises with Country Office staff as required and provides assistance to CO staff when visiting the LH
General
Uphold and work within Hope for Justice’s policies and procedures, including Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, and Child & Vulnerable Adult Protection policies.
Promote Hope for Justice’s core values of Honoring, Openness, Professionalism and Empowerment across the organization and partners
Undertake any other duties, as appropriate to the post, as delegated by the Programme Manager
Represent the organization in different review meetings, workshops, and network meetings.
Key Skills & Attributes
Computer literacy in all Microsoft Office functions.
Ability to write accurate, concise, and informative reports.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
Establishes and maintains an excellent track record of communications with partners and colleagues. Managing Partner Relationships.
Ability to provide training using appropriate PowerPoint.
Ability to write a good project proposal.
Ability to work under pressure and ability to solve
Experience & Qualifications
B.A Degree in Social Work or Psychology
At least 5 years experience working in a senior position
Experience working with vulnerable children and families
Experience in proposal writing and financial management
