Job Summary

Summary of major duties

• Provide legal aid services including preparation of pleadings and other legal document, provision of advice and referral services to target beneficiaries of the project;
• Assist the Regional/ Project Area Manager in following client’s cases and regularly communicate with justice sector actors;
• Assist the Regional/ Project Area Manager in organization of community rights trainings;
• Identify and contact community leaders and others for community rights promotion, trainings and dialogue;
• Prepare a compendium of cases and legal instruments including federal supreme court cassation bench decisions regarding the focus on the project;
• Assist the Regional/ Project Area Manager in the preparation of plans and report;
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirement

Qualification:

  • First degree in law;

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in legal practice

  • Experience in legal/court practice;

  • Experience in project management and community engagement is a plus;

  • Good interpersonal communication;

  • Proficiency in Afaan Oromo is required
