Job Description

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to design, develop, and maintain websites using the WordPress framework. The role involves creating custom plugins, optimizing website performance, and ensuring scalability and security. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WordPress development practices and a passion for building dynamic and engaging web experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, customize, and maintain websites using the WordPress platform.

  • Design and implement custom themes and templates to meet project requirements.

  • Write, test, and deploy custom WordPress plugins.

  • Optimize website performance for speed, scalability, and responsiveness.

  • Ensure websites are secure and adhere to best practices for web development.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly.

  • Collaborate with content creators and UX/UI designers to enhance user experiences.

  • Stay updated with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and technologies.

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of three years of experience

  • Proven experience as a WordPress Developer with expertise in theme and plugin development.

  • Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.

  • Experience with REST APIs and integrating third-party services into WordPress.

  • Familiarity with modern web development practices and tools.

  • Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.

  • Understanding of SEO principles and website accessibility standards.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with WooCommerce and other WordPress extensions.

  • Knowledge of website performance optimization techniques.

  • Familiarity with deployment and hosting platforms.

  • Experience in agile development environments.

  • Understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design.
