Job Description

DINGO, is a voluntary network established in November 2016 with a vision to see synergized and combined efforts and resources of member organizations for cooperation on disability-inclusive programming and interventions to ensure the inclusion of persons with disabilities and their organizations in Ethiopia. DINGO aims to ensure disability mainstreaming through cooperation, planning, combining efforts of the member organizations, participation of persons with disabilities, and building capacities of organizations of persons with disabilities in Ethiopia.

Job Summary: The overall responsibility of the position is to enhance smooth functioning of the network and advance its visibility to ensure achievement of its vision and mission through guidance and support from the network member organizations, the CLG members and the chair of the network. The coordinator reports directly to the DINGO Chair.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The major key roles and responsibilities of the position holder include but are not limited to:
•    Implement and coordinate to ensure effective & efficient implementation of all the Network activities according to the Activity Plan, Code of Partnership (COP) and TOR.
•    Prepare a plan of action and performance report of the network with the guidance from the Network Chair.
•    Ensure timely sharing of information to the member organizations through appropriate communication channels (email, social media, phone calls,s and others) 
•    Facilitate and coordinate DINGO events (General Assemblies, Core Leadership Meetings, advocacy events, consultative workshops, Review meetings, training,s and other events that will be held virtually or physically. 
•    Follow attendance and take notes/minutes during such events and share with the concerned bodies and make follow ups and provide regular updates to the member organizations on agreed up on action points.
•    Coordinate and take lead on production of communication materials (printed reading materials such as leaflets, audio- visual materials) for dissemination to promote and enhance visibility of the network.
•    Collect relevant information from the members organizations, compile and analyse the information and ensure proper documentation/archiving and share with the members.
•    Produce concept Notes/Terms of Reference for a joint initiative of the network and follow the implementation of the Concept Note with the support and guidance from the Core Leadership Group.
•    Support the network in gathering relevant information on the disability and activities of the network. 
•    Carry out any other assignments when requested by the DINGO Chair/Core Leadership Group;


Contract Duration:  Three months (February to April 2025)
The number of working days per month is based on the HI’s HR policy and directives.

Job Requirements

•    Master’s degree in social work, Sociology, Developmental Studies, communication, Disability and Human Rights or related field. 
•    Knowledge and good understanding of disability rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
•    Demonstrated knowledge of program design, grant acquisition, and management, resource stewardship, and cross-functional coordination. Training in project cycle management is highly desirable.
•    Experience working with organizations engaged in disability issues and/or Organizations of Persons with Disabilities is an asset.
•    Fluent in English and Amharic speaking and writing skills is required, other local languages are highly desirable. 
•    Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and foster relationships internally and externally.
•    Computer literacy (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and online/virtual communications as well as typing skills are advantageous
