Job Description

A steward supervisor is supporting the Chief Steward and Assistant Chief Steward in the day to day running of the Stewarding department. His or her responsibilities are as follows but not limited to: The coordination and organization of the Stewarding Department and all its functions. A clear focus on cost control, Hilton Brand Standards, Hygiene and Health & Safety is essential. Hands on attitude, leads by example. Always goes the extra mile to ensure guest satisfaction.

  • Ensures the efficient operation of such areas put in charge by the Assistant Chief Steward. Constantly analyses quality to manage within his set budget and adheres to time management accordingly.

  • Assures on-going training and that the high standards set by the Assistant Chief Steward are followed.

  • Assures high quality standard and complete guest satisfaction.

  • Responsible to maintain all standards set by the Chief Steward / Assistant Chief Steward.

  • Establishes the manner and means to train team members in his area of responsibility according to standard operating procedures.

  • Maintains the highest quality and controls for all areas, according to the needs and desire of the company.

  • Works within his / her monthly-set chemical, cleaning supplies cost budget and controls waste. He / she is instrumental in assuring the highest health, sanitation and safety.

  • Establish a plan, time management agreement, to assure safe and constant needs of our guest’s and company expectations.

  • Guarantees that chinaware, glassware, utensils pictures and specifications given by the Chief Steward / Assistant Chief Steward are followed exactly.

  • Checks kitchen equipment, chinaware, glassware for creativity, quality, cleanliness and safety.

  • Assures timely set up, schedules well trained steward on all areas in proper uniform.

  • Checks and delegates all special functions, along with the Chief Steward / Assistant Chief Steward / F&B Outlets Manager / Chefs.

  • Shares the overall responsibility of proper storing procedures, operational equipment, sanitation and hygiene with the Chief Steward / Assistant Chief Steward / F&B Outlets Manager / Chefs and stewarding team.

  • Work as a team member. Does not make any changes without the knowledge of the Assistant Chief Steward / Chief Steward / F&B Outlets Manager / Chefs.

  • Strive for creativity when setting up action.

  • Enforce “clean as you go” work habits.

  • Notify the Assistant Chief Steward / F&B Outlets Manager / Chefs / Stewards / Engineering of any dangerous or unsafe places in the work area at once (inform the proper department, follow up and keep a file).

  • Informs and documents broken equipment to the Engineering department and follows up to ensure timely completion of work order.

  • Enforce proper uniform procedures according to standards. Always set the example to team members.

  • Constantly thrive to upgrade the quality standard.

  • Evaluate your subordinates every 3-months (quarterly) period by having personal interviews and keeping a record of them.

  • Be responsible to control labor cost in his work area.

  • Check storage procedure wherever operational equipment is handled.

  • Check all kitchen’s equipment in his / her work area that has to be fixed and report to the Assistant Chief Steward / F&B Outlets Manager / Chefs / Engineering on a daily basis (always updated).
