Job Description
Ministry of Health would like to invite competent and interested applicants for the Immunization Support Manager positions.
Reports to: Regional Health Bureau, MCH Directorate
Location: Gambella Regional Health Bureau
Employment Type and Duration: The contract will be for one year (12 months), with possibility of extension subject to performance and budget availability
Salary: 57417.00 ETB
Required Number: 1 (One)
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Ministry of health, Immunization services desk, the position holder will support the Regional Health Bureau, Zones and districts in planning, preparation, training, logistics, monitoring and assessment for the immunization program focusing on selected high priority areas; this will include
TA for operationalizing high-quality district and PHCU level micro plans for the routine immunization (RED micro planning) special focus on identification of high-risk areas, zero dose, under vaccinated children and supplies planning, etc.
Conduct qualitative and quantitative assessments such as LQA, Surveys following PIRI implementation, data triangulation assessment, Rapid Community Survey (RCS) and Penta3 coverage assessments, new vaccine introduction implementation to generate evidence on the immunization service and data quality.
Data entry and analysis from qualitative and quantitative assessments
Facilitating Coordination between district health, schools, NGOs, religious organizations, private clinics and other partners to ensure every child gets immunization.
Provide training and orientation on immunization program, recent directions and new vaccines for health staffs at Zonal, Woreda and Health Facility level
Conduct advocacy and coordinate social mobilization activities to enhance immunization service demand,
Monitor immunization performance and improve quality of routine immunization data at RHB, ZHD, Woreda Health Office and PHC levels by providing technical skill
Ensure regular monitoring (completeness & timelines) of administrative EPI data and provide feedback to HF and RHB, ZHD, WrHO
Conduct periodic supportive supervisions and monitoring’s using the standard cheek list and provide necessary feedback to the RHB, ZHD, districts/ sub districts
Facilitate EPI review meeting at RHB, ZHD, WrHO level to discuss key program success, challenges, and solutions.
Provide TA to implementation of PIRI activities at RHB, ZHD, WrHO and PHCU to reach all unvaccinated children
Coordinate SIAs activities (Engage in Material development, Preparatory activity monitoring, documentation of technical report and lesson learned etc)
Conduct regular VPD surveillance (AFP, Measles and other VPD) in collaboration with PHEM structures at RHB, ZHD, WrHO and PHCU
Provide technical support on integration of COVID 19 into primary health care and regularly monitoring of the COVID 19 vaccination performance
Frequent traveling to hard to reach areas ( district and PHCUs as necessary)
Undertake additional assignment or tasks of the departments
Submit monthly report to RHB and FMOH
Submit a detail final report at the end of the assignment.
Education:
Master’s degree in public health, Nursing, Midwifery or Epidemiology.
Work experience:
Minimum of 12 years of proven work experience on maternal and child health program. Out of which 4 years is directly on immunization program,
Experience in quantitative and qualitative assessments and data analysis.
Both the Civil service and MoH/RHB Human Resource Administration rules and regulations will be applied to guide the day-to-day services of the advisor.
