Job Description

Menschen für Menschen Foundation is a nongovernmental, nonreligious and nonpartisan humanitarian organization involved in Integrated Rural Development activities and Project Coordination Office (PCO) wishes to invite applicants with the following qualifications and experiences for Addis Ababa Office. 

Purchase officer 

Number required:  1 (One) 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluating potential vendors, comparing their products, prices, and services

  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.

  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records

  • Researching and identifying prospective suppliers

  • Reviewing, comparing, analysing, and records products and services to be purchased.

  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc

  • Purchases materials, supplies, equipment’s and services as per MfM purchasing policies and procedures.

  • Collects and maintains current information regarding sources, prices, and specifications of goods and services

  • Maintains & keep records of all purchase transactions. Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases.

  • Gathering, compiling and analyzing bid documents & Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers

Duty stations: Project Coordination Office, Addis Ababa

Salary: Negotiable

Terms of Employment: Yearly renewable contract

Job Requirements

Qualifications:    BA in Purchasing/Procurement & Supplies Management/ Management/Accounting or related field. 

Work Experience:  A Minimum of 6 years as a purchaser officer.

TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS: 

  • Responsible, trustworthy and reliable.

  • Keen observation abilities and alertness.

  • Good organizational communications skill and ability to work as part of a team

  • Good computer Knowledge.

Language: A good command of spoken & written English
