Job Description
As the sole authorized importer for Philips domestic appliances and AVENT (mother and childcare) products, Ethiopian Electronics PLC’s (ETHELCO) history started in 1954 under the shareholder company Philips Ethiopia as a subsidiary to its parent company in the Netherlands. Known for the best quality of products in the world, Philips Ethiopia was a unique importer of various electronic, household appliances, lighting products, and medical systems paving the way for many companies that followed in its footsteps. Ethiopian Electronics PLC is an importer, distributor, and retailer of branded household appliances.
We are seeking an experienced HR Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-4 years of experience as an HR Officer. The HR Officer will be responsible for supporting the HR department in managing recruitment, employee relations, training, compliance, and administrative tasks. This role ensures the smooth functioning of HR processes, policies, and employee engagement initiatives. . The candidate must be knowledgeable about Ethiopian labor laws and possess excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with various departments.
• Company Structure & Pay Scale: Develop and implement the organizational structure and compensation frameworks.
• Job Descriptions: Create and maintain detailed job descriptions for all positions within the company.
• Performance Evaluations: Design and conduct performance evaluation processes to assess employee performance and development needs.
• Company Handbook: Edit and update the company handbook to ensure compliance with current labor laws and organizational policies.
• Labor Law Compliance: Stay updated on Ethiopian labor laws to ensure the company complies with all regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with different departments to identify and fulfill human resource requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
3-4 years of HR experience.
Knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and HR best practices.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in HR software and MS Office Suite.
