Job Description
SWISS DIAGNOSTICS ETHIOPIA looking for Laboratory Technologist who responsible for performing complex diagnostic tests, analysing biological samples, and ensuring high accuracy in test results to aid in disease diagnosis and treatment. The role involves utilizing advanced laboratory technologies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting research initiatives.
Position Title: Laboratory Technologist
Report to: Laboratory Manager

Perform specialized and high-precision laboratory tests in areas such as molecular diagnostics, immunology, microbiology, haematology, and clinical chemistry
Operate and maintain advanced diagnostic equipment, including PCR machines, immunoassay analysers, and automated haematology analysers.
Analyse and interpret complex test results with a high degree of accuracy.
Follow strict quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) protocols to ensure test reliability.
Adhere to national and international laboratory standards, including ISO 15189.
Ensure routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced laboratory equipment.
Maintain an inventory of laboratory reagents and consumables, ensuring proper storage and handling.
Oversee sample collection, labelling, processing, and storage in compliance with biosafety guidelines.
Ensure accurate data entry and tracking using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Stay updated with emerging trends in laboratory diagnostics and contribute to process improvements.
Implement and adhere to laboratory safety protocols, including infection control and hazardous waste management.
Train junior staff and laboratory interns on advanced diagnostic techniques and laboratory best practices.
Assist in the development and implementation of new standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
Additional training or certification in specialized diagnostic & Training on 15189:2022
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a clinical or advanced diagnostic laboratory.
Hands-on experience with high-end laboratory diagnostic tools and methodologies
