About the role:

The position is for a full-time Researcher position based in Addis Ababa. The successful candidate shall undertake: Analyse and interpret data to produce results, utilize specialized statistical computer software in analyzing and interpreting algorithms, artificial intelligence, machine learning. Develop the visualization of the burden of diseases. Attaching/linking reports, research articles in the institutes website. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Conducting thorough and methodical research in various areas of computer science such as algorithms, artificial intelligence, machine learning. Designing, implementing, and analyzing computer algorithms and models. Data visualizations in burden of diseases. Writing research papers and reports to explain their findings. Presenting research findings at conferences, workshops, or other professional gatherings. Staying updated on the latest research and developments in the field of computer science. Teaching or mentoring junior researchers. Applying research findings to real-world technological challenges to develop new tools or systems in health research.Communicate research findings to health practitioners, policymakers, and the public. Guide and mentor researchers in data analysis and interpretation. Contribute and participate in capacity-building activities internally and externally. 

Job Requirements

Candidate requirements:

• Must hold a minimum of Masters degree in Computer Science 

• Must have minimum of 4 years working experience after master’s degree.

• Knowledge on Computer Programming, Database management and Networking 

• utilization security tools Like System information and Event Management 

• Good knowledge in research, research methods, and analysis using mashing learning.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to compile and synthesize data and findings into polished comprehensive final reports.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including flexibility.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Experience working in research settings or research projects is an added advantage.

• Research publication in peer reviewed journals and/or

• Training on advanced computer training/ Global Burden of Diseases.
