Job Description
Sandford International School is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finance Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Finance Specialist will play a vital role in the school’s financial health and reporting.
Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
Timely Payment Processing: Process payments for withholding tax, pension contributions, income tax, Credit Association, Labor Union dues, school utility payments, and other financial obligations promptly.
Staff Debtors Management: Maintain up-to-date records of staff debtors' balances and reconciled ledger balances, communicating this information to staff on a monthly basis for payroll input.
Budget Review: Review budget versus actual comparison reports to monitor financial performance.
Accounting Document Management: Handle all accounting documents, including checks payment vouchers, petty cash payment vouchers, and cash receipt vouchers, while maintaining check stubs by affixing void checks as necessary.
Fixed Asset Management: Manage the school’s fixed asset register in collaboration with the property team, reconciling all additions and deletions of fixed assets with the relevant working unit. Participate in an annual fixed asset physical inventory.
Annual Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, including the analysis and evaluation of financial transactions on the trial balance.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as instructed by the immediate supervisor to support the finance team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Minimum of 4 years in Senior Accountant position.
Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.
Proficiency in an accounting software, preferably QuickBooks
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
