The office Engineer is responsible for optimizing and improving the production, quality, and efficiency of ready-mix concrete operations. This role involves analyzing manufacturing processes, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with industry standards to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and maintain high-quality concrete production.

Key Responsibilities

Process Optimization & Efficiency:

• Analyze and improve batching, mixing, and delivery processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for concrete production.

• Monitor and optimize the use of raw materials, including cement, aggregates, admixtures, and water.

• Work with production teams to troubleshoot operational challenges and implement solutions.

Quality Control & Compliance:

•  Ensure ready-mix concrete meets required specifications and industry standards (ASTM, ACI, etc.).

•  Monitor concrete mix designs and adjust formulations to optimize strength, durability, and workability.

• Collaborate with the quality control team to perform regular material and product testing.

•  Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards in production processes.

Equipment & Technology Management:

•  Evaluate and recommend improvements in batching plants, mixers, and material handling systems.

•  Oversee the maintenance and calibration of batching and quality control equipment.

•  Implement automation and digital solutions to improve process monitoring and reporting.

Cost Reduction & Resource Management:

•  Identify areas to reduce energy and material consumption while maintaining product quality.

•  Optimize plant scheduling to reduce downtime and maximize production capacity.

•  Analyze production data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process bottlenecks.

Safety & Environmental Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to workplace safety guidelines in plant operations.

• Implement environmental sustainability initiatives, including water recycling and dust control.

• Conduct safety training and risk assessments to minimize workplace hazards.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, construction management, or a related field.

• 8-10 years of experience in quantity surveyor, process engineering, preferably in the ready-mix concrete, cement, or construction materials industry.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of concrete mix designs, material properties, and batching plant operations.

• Proficiency in process optimization tools, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing principles.

• Familiarity with industry standards such as ASTM C94, ACI, and ISO 9001.

• Experience with batching control systems 

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
