Job Description
Ethio Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA) is a registered nongovernmental organization working to improve food security, livelihood bases and enhance sustainable management of natural resources in Ethiopia. EWNRA is going to implement REGRADE II Project in East Belessa woreda (district) of Central Gondar in partnership with and funding of Concern Worldwide. EWNRA would like to invite dynamic and creative applicants for the following positions:
Job Purpose:
Conduct coach and mentor REGRADE programme target HHs as many as 50;
Assist HHs to identify the problems, the causes for their situation and help them plan and find solutions;
To facilitate the planning and proper implementation of Livelihood activities by the target households assigned to increase their assets and the returns on assets;
Promote gender equality within their homes and communities
Provide advisory services to improve the technical skills of target HHs on IGAs, Business management, market linkage, new practices & technologies introduced by the program.
Assist HHs are preparing and implementing their IGAs/Business plans & provide with relevant technical & advice in case of challenges - psychological support.
Provide support and share learning with beneficiaries in order for them to achieve progress.
Link beneficiary to existing service providers and opportunities in the area.
Provide adequate technical skills to beneficiaries in the respective IGAs and Business they engage.
Collect and document and share necessary monitoring data from target beneficiary.
Collect relevant/important data at each interaction with graduation households to track the progress of each household.
Collect data using Digital Data Gathering (DDG) and designated forms as required where the data is collated & analyzed by the project team within the Beneficiary Tracking Database.
Observe the behavior and the environment of beneficiaries using 5 senses to assess the general living conditions of a HH and/or other peculiarities;
Mentor target HHs on improved on-farm and off-farm IGAs at least twice in a month individually and in groups based on needs;
To coordinate, implement and facilitate EWNRA-Concern programme – REGRADE II at the HH level through supporting and closely tracking beneficiary in IGA identification, implementation and progress towards graduation out of poverty;
Organize HHs under supervision in groups to facilitate training and learnings among them;
Engage with the Watershed Committee in the planning, implementation and monitoring of watershed activities;
Advise and organize economic groups among target HHs for saving and other economic activities as directed by the concerned technical staff;
Assess gaps on service delivery for target HHs and report to the SPO and the Supervisor,
Key in rolling out technical trainings to beneficiaries in relation to planning, enterprise development, core modules on Gender, Hygiene, Conflict resolution, HIV & AIDS, Nutrition and specific IGA development based on beneficiary IGA choices (requires extensive capacity building on the issues)
Expected to advocate for service delivery, especially if some of the services are not reaching targeted extreme poor HH at village level (in collaboration with programme management team)

Contribute to ensuring that EWNRA is a place where men and women are treated equally and with dignity and respect
Demonstrate gender equality awareness and gender sensitivity and an ability to integrate a gender equality perspective into tasks and activities
Safeguarding
Ensure the maximum protection of program participants from exploitation by working on the adherence of EWNRA’s Code of Conduct (CoC) with three Associated Policies; the Program Participant Protection Policy (P4), the Child Safeguarding Policy and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Policy.
Ensure program participant Protections by adhering standards of the safeguarding policy when program participants be in contact with EWNRA during different trainings, meetings, workshops and contractual works.
Assess the safety and security of different meeting, workshop and training venues in collaboration with project HR unit
Provide technical support & Advise to Project Manager Follow up & Monitor Strategic Implementation of EWNRA Safeguarding Issues collaborating with Gender and Safeguarding team in EWNRA and Concern.
Accountability
Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that the Complaints and Response Mechanism (CRM) is functional and accessible, that feedback and complaints are welcomed and addressed;

EWNRA is committed to Concern to support the donor’s actions in responding to emergencies efficiently and effectively in order to help affected people meet their basic needs, alleviate suffering and maintain their dignity including reallocation of all staff to contribute to Concern’s efforts aimed at achieving the humanitarian objective of the organization

Competencies:
Ability and willingness to frequently travel and stay at the field
Know about child and adult abuse, harm and neglect in its different forms and the potential impact on children and adults at risk of harm
Able to recognize possible signs of child and adult abuse, harm and neglect as this relates to their role
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization developing effective working relationships to deliver outstanding results for children.
Safeguarding: Code of Conduct and its Associated Policies
EWNRA has adopted Concern’s organizational Code of Conduct (CoC) with three Associated Policies: the Program Participant Protection Policy (P4), the Child Safeguarding Policy and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Policy. These have been developed to ensure the maximum protection of program participants from exploitation, and to clarify the responsibilities of Concern staff, consultants, visitors to the program and partner organization, and the standards of behavior expected of them. In this context, staffs have a responsibility to the organization to strive for, and maintain, the highest standards in the day-to-day conduct in their workplace in accordance with EWNRA’s core values and mission. Any candidate offered a job with EWNRA will be expected to sign the EWNRA Staff Code of Conduct and Associated Policies as an appendix to their contract of employment.
