Job Description
Job Purpose:- The Senior Bid and Tender Engineer plays a key role in the preparation and development of tender documents and contracts for construction projects. This position involves collaborating with multiple departments to gather project requirements, crafting precise and competitive bids, and ensuring that all contracts are comprehensive, legally compliant, and aligned with both project objectives and company policies.
Tender Preparation:
Analyze tender invitations, project specifications, drawings, and contract requirements to understand project scope and requirements.
Develop and prepare detailed tender documents, including technical and financial proposals, scope of work, and schedules.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather and verify project information and requirements.
Cost Estimation and Bidding
Prepare accurate cost estimates and pricing for tender submissions, including labor, materials, equipment, and overheads
Develop competitive bidding strategies to maximize the likelihood of winning contracts while ensuring profitability.
Review and verify bid calculations and pricing to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Contract Formulation:
Draft and formulate contract documents, including terms and conditions, scope of work, project milestones, and deliverables.
Ensure that contract terms are clear, comprehensive, and legally compliant.
Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to review and finalize contract terms and address any legal or commercial issues.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure that all tender and contract documents comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Identify and assess risks associated with tender submissions and contract terms, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to tendering and contract formulation.
Coordination and Communication:
Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., engineering, procurement, finance) to gather necessary information and ensure alignment in tender and contract preparation.
Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to clarify tender requirements and negotiate contract terms.
Provide technical and administrative support throughout the tender and contract formulation process.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and organized records of tender documents, contract formulations, and related correspondence.
Prepare and present reports on tender submissions, contract formulations, and related activities to senior management.
Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date, complete, and accessible for future reference.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of tender and contract documents.
Conduct regular reviews and audits of tender and contract documentation to ensure compliance with company standards and best practices.
Address any quality issues or deficiencies and implement improvements as needed.
Process Improvement:
Evaluate and improve tender and contract formulation processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Implement best practices and innovative approaches to bid preparation and contract management.
Qualification and Skills
BSc or MSc in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
Experience
6 years for BSc
4 years for MSc.
experience in Construction Management within the construction industry is mandatory
