SWISS DIAGNOSTICS ETHIOPIA looking for Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist who is responsible to conducting advanced laboratory tests, ensuring quality control, maintaining lab equipment, and supervising junior staff Key.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform and oversee laboratory tests.

• Ensure timely and accurate testing and reporting of results to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

• Analyse complex samples and ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.

• Ensure adherence to laboratory safety and quality control protocols.

• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

• Checking if reagents, chemicals, or samples are expired, contaminated, or improperly stored.

• Reviewing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure correct methods were followed.

• Examining calibration logs and maintenance records of lab instruments.

• Assessing environmental factors (e.g., temperature, humidity) that may affect test outcomes..

• Mentor and train junior lab technologists and technicians.

• Provide technical support and guidance on specialized laboratory procedures.

• Assist in staff competency assessments and evaluations.

• Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of lab instruments.

• Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory results and procedures.

• Detecting inconsistencies, errors, or irregularities in test results.

• Noticing equipment malfunctions, reagent issues, or procedural errors.

• Recording errors, troubleshooting steps, and corrective actions in laboratory logs.

• Implementing preventive maintenance schedules for lab equipment.

• Recognizing quality control failures (e.g., out-of-range control samples).

• Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of lab instruments.

• Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies.

• Prepare reports and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.

• Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting is preferred. familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) are advantageous

• Additional training or certification in specialized diagnostic areas is an advantage.
