Job Description

Conduct monthly chemical inventory, organize and participate in SOP writing and timely revision, sampling and analysis of RMs and packaging materials, writing and proper documentation of COA, standard solution and reagents preparation and standardization, verification of measuring devises according to preset schedule. Analyze water samples periodically and ensure it meets in-house standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

      1. Strategy and implementation

  • Undergo periodic inventory of all required laboratory chemicals and reagents and initiate PR.

    2. Policy, Processes, methodology and systems

  • Work towards sustaining QMS and FSMS and implementation of GMP.

  • Ensure that all production processes /cellar, bottling/ meet the standards of GMP.

  • SOP writing for newly purchased instruments and processes. 

  • Organize periodic and timely revision of SOPs.

    3. Running business 

  • Perform timely verification of laboratory instruments and measuring devices.

  • Conduct a weekly audit of standard solutions and reagents, preparation and standardization where needed. 

  • Manage sampling and analysis of raw materials and packaging materials and timely reporting and documenting of COAs.

  • Periodic inspection of warehouses and report their sanitation status.

  • Ensure that all raw and packing materials are with APPROVAL/REJECTION label.

  • Proper handling of documents such as SOPs, batch COAs, in-process packaging follow-up data, daily organoleptic tasting data and batch treatment data among others.

  • Follow up of CCPs and OPRPs.

    4. People Management

  • Work in close association with cellar and bottling supervisors of both branches.

    5. Budget, KPI’s and Controlling

  • Engaged in department annual budget preparation.

  • Proper sampling of cellar raw materials and packaging materials and their analysis.

  • Generating COA for every raw material and packaging material analyzed and its proper documentation.

  • Submit weekly report of CCPs, OPRPs among others.

  • Undergo inventory of laboratory chemicals and reagents.

    6. Quality, health, Security and safety

  • Ascertain that workers engaged in different production activities meet health requirements.

  • Monitor the proper use of safety equipment and materials.

            7. Project management

  • Participate in new product development and current recipe revision projects.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • BSC Degree in Applied Chemistry or Process Engineering or Food Process Engineering and Harvesting or Industrial Chemistry or Food Science, or related fields.

Experience:

  • 2 Years of Work Experience in Process Engineering or Optimizing Winemaking processes or related activities.
