Job Description

The Store Keeper is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods within the warehouse, ensuring proper inventory control, documentation, and adherence to company policies and procedures. This role plays a key part in maintaining the efficiency of the supply chain by ensuring accurate stock records, minimizing losses, and supporting procurement and logistics functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records for all incoming and outgoing goods.

  • Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies in inventory records.

  • Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to minimize wastage and obsolescence.

  • Implement and maintain effective inventory control measures to prevent stock shortages or overstocking.

Receiving and Inspection:

  • Receive and inspect incoming goods for quantity, quality, and compliance with purchase orders.

  • Ensure that all received items are documented properly and discrepancies are reported immediately.

  • Coordinate with procurement and suppliers for any damaged or missing items.

Storage and Organization:

  • Ensure all materials and products are stored properly and securely according to storage guidelines.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.

  • Label and categorize goods for easy identification and retrieval.

Issuance and Distribution:

  • Process requests for materials and ensure timely issuance to relevant departments.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth distribution and delivery of materials.

  • Maintain proper documentation for all issued and returned items.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of all stock movements, including receipts, issuances, and returns.

  • Prepare regular inventory reports and submit them to the Local & Import/Commercial Manager.

  • Assist in preparing monthly and annual stock reconciliation reports.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure proper handling and storage of goods to prevent damage or deterioration.

  • Adhere to company policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular safety checks and report any hazards or risks in the storage area.

Vendor and Logistics Coordination:

  • Coordinate with suppliers and transporters to ensure timely delivery of materials.

  • Work closely with the procurement and logistics teams to facilitate smooth operations.

  • Verify and process delivery documents such as invoices, packing lists, and GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes).

Other Duties:

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Local & Import/Commercial Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Diploma or BA degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in warehouse/storekeeping, preferably in a commercial or import/export environment.
