Women Empowerment-Action (WE-Action) is an indigenous non- political, non- religious, non-profit, humanitarian and development-oriented organization working in Ethiopia to the improvement of the social, economic, and physical well-being of the poor women in particular and the community in general. Currently the organization is operating in four regions SNNPR, Oromia, and Amhara National Regional States and Tigray Region.

Currently, WE-Action is seeking to hire competent, qualified and interested candidate for the position of safe house psychosocial counsellor for Finoteselam Field Office.
Description of the Position
Salary: As per the organization’s scale
Reports to: Field Office coordinator
Number of positions: 1 (One)
Employment Type: Full time
Duration: Four Month
Required Applicant: Female only
The safe house psychosocial councilor provides a comprehensive support to individuals who have experienced violence. The role of the councilor involves both case management and psychosocial counseling to ensure, emotional healing and overall well-being of the survivors.
The position requires a compassionate, patient and impartial and confidential approach to work with survivors of GBV
Develop and implement individualized safety plan and case management plan for each survivor.
Refer clients to other specialists or other institutions for further assistance, when necessary, in line with the available local referral pathways, to ensure effective and efficient case management process.
Participate in the creation of any material needed for counseling activities and maintain and update
Conduct regular follow-up of cases registered.
Ensure survivor center approach during case management.
Provide direct support and care for adult survivors of GBV and age-appropriate specialized support and care for adolescent, and girl child survivors of GBV, including counselling and case management.
Ensure all documentations on reported cases and referrals made are updated, accurate, organized and well maintained
Educational Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
2years of experience in GBV case management and counseling.
NGO work experience preferable.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of GBV: Possess a strong understanding of gender-based violence, including its causes, dynamics, and survivor-centered approaches. Familiarity with international standards, guidelines, and best practices in GBV prevention and response is essential.
Case Management Skills: Proficient in providing comprehensive case management services to GBV survivors, including conducting assessments, developing safety plans, coordinating services, and providing emotional support. Ability to apply trauma-informed care principles and maintain survivor confidentiality.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with survivors, colleagues, stakeholders, and community members. Ability to build rapport, maintain confidentiality, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Gender Sensitive: understand gender equality and demonstrate gender sensitive and responsive service provision.
