Job Description
Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC (KGM) is a subsidiary of Allied Gold Corp, a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, with mining operations in multiple countries including Ethiopia, Mali, and Côte d'Ivoire. KGM holds a Large-Scale Gold Mining License and three contiguous Exploration Licenses for its Ethiopian project. These licenses are located in western Ethiopia, approximately 750 km from Addis Ababa and about 90 km northwest of Assosa, in the Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State. KGM is currently engaged in both mine development and exploration activities at the site.
Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and company policies.
Conduct or participate in environmental impact assessments and internal and external audits.
Develop and implement environmental management plans and sustainability initiatives.
Oversee waste management, biodiversity management, land clearance and rehabilitation, ground and surface water management and conservation, chemicals and hazardous substances management, and pollution control measures.
Perform monitoring activities related to water and water abstraction, air quality, noise and vibration, dust, soil and other activities as required.
Report, investigate and close out actions related to Environmental incidents.
Prepare reports and maintain records on environmental performance and compliance.
Conduct environmental awareness training for employees and stakeholders.
Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders on environmental

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
Minimum 6 years of experience in environmental management, preferably in the mining industry.
Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and best practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Certification in environmental auditing or monitoring (advantageous).
