Job Description

The Finance Partnership Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective financial management of partner organizations while upholding Imagine 1 Day’s core values of Integrity, Community, Sustainability, and Open Communication. This position ensures compliance with donor and internal policies, strengthens partner capacity, mitigates financial risks, and enhances financial accountability in alignment with Imagine 1 Day’s commitment to education, WASH, and child protection programs. 

Responsibilities and Task

1. Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Review and validate partners’ financial reports for accuracy and compliance.

  • Ensure timely submission of financial reports from partners and reconcile expenditures.

  • Monitor partners' budget utilization and provide financial analysis.

  • Assist in preparing consolidated financial reports for donors and management.

  • Follow-up on partners' budget vs Actual with the program progress monthly.

2. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure partners adhere to donor regulations, internal financial policies, and grant agreements.

  • Conduct financial assessments of partners to evaluate risks and internal controls.

  • Provide recommendations and corrective actions for financial management gaps.

  • Support partners in implementing fraud prevention measures and internal control improvements.

3. Capacity Building & Training

  • Train and support partner finance teams on financial management, budgeting, reporting, and compliance.

  • Conduct workshops or one-on-one coaching sessions on financial best practices.

  • Assist partners in improving accounting and internal control systems.

4. Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Assist partners in preparing project budgets and ensuring alignment with donor guidelines.

  • Support in reviewing budget proposals and ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Monitor budget variances and provide financial recommendations.

5. Financial Monitoring & Audits

  • Conduct periodic financial monitoring visits to partners to verify transactions.

  • Ensure partners maintain proper financial documentation and records.

  • Support external and internal audits, ensuring all partner-related financial documentation is available.

6. Coordination & Communication

  • Act as the key liaison between the organization and partners on financial matters.

  • Collaborate with program teams to ensure financial aspects align with project goals.

  • Communicate financial requirements and policy updates to partners effectively.

Job Requirements

Experience and Technical competencies: 

(a) Level of Education/Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or MA in Accounting or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience

(b) Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of more than six years of experience in accounting, auditing, or finance, preferably in three years of INGO Finance & partnership management experience.

  • Strong experience in financial reporting, compliance, and donor-funded projects.

  • Experience in training and capacity-building for partners is highly desirable.

Other Competencies/Abilities/Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial regulations, and grant management.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or other accounting software.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and high ethical standards.

Languages:

  • Proficiency in English and knowledge of the local language is advantageous.
