Job Description
Background of the company :- Kerchanshe Group is the largest producer and exporter of coffee in Ethiopia, and engages in manufacturing, agro-processing and export business. It has a proud history of providing quality coffees to the local and international markets. Currently Kerchanshe Group needs a dedicated and motivated candidate.
Job Purpose:- To maintain fixed assets and calculates depreciation for book and tax basis by providing accurate accounting data.
Reviews and records Fixed Assets transaction including addition, disposal, and transfer in the accounting system according to IFRS.
Works closely with other departments to understand business transactions managing new assets/terminate assets and provide guidance in relevant fixed assets accounting.
Reconciles the balance in the fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger.
Reviews and updates the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
Prepares month-end Fixed Asset reconciliations and other supporting documentation.
Runs depreciation of Fixed Assets, reviews for reasonableness, and posts to the general ledger.
Investigates the potential obsolescence of fixed assets.
Maintains fixed asset records including additions, and book and tax depreciation.
Allocates tag numbers to fixed assets to effectively track assets continuously.
Leads to the identification of fixed assets that should be disposed-off with the required relevant documents and comments for decision.
Recommends management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualification
BSc or MSc Degree in Accounting, Accounting and Finance, Management, Business administration or related fields.
Experience
4 years for BSc/BA
2 years for MSc/MA
Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel.
Time management skills.
Familiarity with Peachtree accounting.
