Position: Production Manager
Classification: Full-Time

The Role
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire production process of edible oil, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards and regulatory compliance. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and operational management skills to drive efficiency, minimize waste, and enhance productivity.
Production Planning & Execution:
Develop and implement production plans to meet demand forecasts and company objectives.
Oversee the daily operations of the production line to ensure smooth workflow and timely output.
Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and minimize costs while maintaining quality.
Quality Control & Compliance:
Ensure all edible oil production processes meet industry standards, including HACCP, ISO, and food safety regulations.
Work closely with the Quality Control team to monitor product quality and implement necessary improvements.
Maintain accurate production records and generate reports for management.
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
Introduce new technologies and best practices to enhance productivity.
Minimize raw material wastage and maximize oil extraction efficiency.
Team Leadership & Workforce Management:
Supervise and train production staff to ensure adherence to safety and operational protocols.
Build a motivated and efficient team to give high performance and meet production targets.
Ensure compliance with labor laws and company HR policies within the production unit.
Equipment Maintenance & Safety Compliance:
Ensure all machinery and equipment are properly maintained and serviced to prevent downtime.
Enforce workplace safety measures to prevent accidents and ensure employee well-being.
Work with the maintenance team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:
Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure continuous availability of raw materials and packaging supplies.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers to prevent shortages.
Implement inventory control measures to reduce losses and improve traceability.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Food Processing, or a related field.
A diploma in a relevant field with significant experience may also be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in production management, preferably in edible oil or food processing industries.
Proven experience in managing production teams and achieving operational targets.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of edible oil processing techniques, machinery, and best practices.
Familiarity with food safety and quality assurance regulations (HACCP, ISO, GMP).
Ability to analyze production data and implement process improvements.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and production management software is an advantage.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Amharic. Additional languages may be an advantage.
