Machine Operator is responsible to operate, handle and clean production machines so as to produce the desired quantity and quality product the outputs produced by the machine..

Duties & Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Production Pharmacist, Machine Operator shall carry out the following duties:

• Identifies a machine, room or equipment for operation and labels with proper status label as per relevant SOPs and batch records.

• Checks the presence of all input utility systems before starting the machine.

• Set up the machine at the beginning of an activity/ a shift before main work begins to be sure that it is in good condition for production. 

• Set all machine operation parameters as per respective SOPs and batch records.

• Check the cleanness and well-being of the machine and cleanness of the working environment before start working.

• Ensures that all line clearance requirements are met as per BMR and takes confirmation signature from supervisor and IPQA prior to resuming machine operation.

• Communicates with supervisor in cases of production materials timely preparation, availability and quality.

• Report immediately to the supervisor when there is any technical problem on the machines and cooperates with the technical team until solved. 

• Ensure that regular and preventative maintenance procedures are carried out.

• Performs cleaning and operational activities before and after each activity and shift as per written procedures, manuals and instructions.

• Performs machine adjustments, changeovers and minor maintenance activities involving dismantling and assembling of machine parts that are within scope of operator.

• Ensures that all GMP requirements are followed to the production systems to prevent mix-ups, contamination and cross contamination including personal hygiene.

• Follows and checks the machine’s calibration, maintenance and performance status and reports to supervisor(s) regularly.

• Performs relevant and on time documentation of the activities performed on batch records, log sheets and logbooks.

• Participate in cleaning the working environment during product change overs.

• Respects the company’s safety rules & regulations.

• Performs any additional work instructed by immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

College diploma or TVET 10+3 Diploma in General Mechanics/ Machining /Manufacturing Technology or Level IV in Metal Engineering Production Management/ or Level III in Machining, General Metal Fabrication & Assembly or other related fields. & 2 year experience

Skills required: 

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Proactive and commitment for outcome

• Able to understand and follow written and oral instruction.

• Able to follow health and safety procedures.

• Able to work on using own intuitive and be self-motivated to keep busy. 

• Knows about working principles of relevant machines.
