Job Description
The Construction Audit Head will be responsible for evaluating and auditing construction projects to ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and industry standards. This role involves conducting risk assessments, cost analysis, contract audits, and quality inspections to ensure project efficiency and accountability.
Project Auditing: Conduct regular audits of construction projects to verify adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
Cost Control & Budget Review: V.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with Ethiopian construction laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
Contract & Procurement Audits: Review contracts, procurement processes, and subcontractor agreements for accuracy and fairness.
Site Inspections & Reporting: Perform on-site inspections to assess material usage, work progress, and labor management.
Fraud Prevention & Investigation: Identify potential fraud, waste, and inefficiencies within construction operations.
Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with finance, operations, HR, and technical teams to implement audit recommendations.
Documentation & Policy Development: Maintain detailed audit reports and contribute to policy improvements for better financial and operational control.
Work Environment:
Primarily based at the head office with frequent travel to project sites for inspections and audits.
Requires collaboration with multiple departments, including finance, technical, operations, and HR.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related.
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in construction auditing, project cost control, or risk management.
Strong understanding of construction project management, procurement, and financial auditing principles.
Experience with Ethiopian construction regulations, labor laws, and contract compliance.
Proficiency in audit software, financial analysis tools, and MS Office applications.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial and technical audits.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Ethical decision-making and ability to handle confidential information.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple audits simultaneously.
