Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Consultant with expertise in media engagement, content creation, strategic communication, and event documentation. The consultant will be responsible for executing a comprehensive communication strategy before, during, and after the event.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in public relations, corporate communications, and media relations, with proven experience in event communication, branding, and stakeholder engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Pre-Event Phase (Strategy Implementation & Promotion)

  • Develop and implement an Action Plan for the Communication & Media Strategy aligned with the Event’s objectives.

  • Create and edit pre-event publications, including: Press releases, Press Kits and Policy Briefs, Case Studies and success stories, Proceedings of Meetings, News and media articles

  • Engage with local and international media outlets to ensure wide coverage of the event.

  • Coordinate digital and mainstream media promotion, including: Social media campaigns, Media interviews and op-eds, Newsletters and website updates

  • Prepare talking points and key messages for speakers, panelists, and event stakeholders.

Event Phase (Execution & Documentation)

  • Manage real-time media engagement, including live social media updates and press interactions.

  • Coordinate media coverage to ensure interviews and features are published across key platforms.

  • Take detailed notes and document key discussions during panels and breakout sessions.

  • Prepare event summaries and reports for immediate dissemination to stakeholders.

  • Facilitate media briefings and coordinate interviews with high-profile attendees.

Post-Event Phase (Follow-Up & Reporting)

  • Conduct media monitoring to assess coverage and reach of the event.

  • Prepare a comprehensive post-event report, including: Media impact assessment, Key outcomes and insights from discussions, Recommendations for future forums

  • Support post-event communications, including press releases and follow-up engagements

Job Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

  • Expereince: At least 5 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, or event communications.

  • Proven experience in developing and executing communication strategies for high-profile events.

  • Strong writing and editing skills for press releases, reports, and promotional content.

  • Experience working with local and international media outlets and managing press engagement.

  • Knowledge of social media and digital communication.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple communication tasks simultaneously.
