The Procurement unit at the GIZ Country office Ethiopia and Djibouti is looking to expand with an additional team member for 7 months, helping out during the maternity leave of two staff members.

As a member of our team, the successful candidate will be positioned within the units of Procurement of Services and Procurement of Goods.

This position is a limited term opening for 7 months as a temporary maternity replacement. Please consider this when applying. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

The Procurement and Contracting Specialist performs and ensures the following tasks:

Procurement/Contract services

• advises colleagues of ET/DJ portfolio for facilitation of goods and service procurement procedures

• facilitates procurement procedures for Country Office Units of all thresholds and Cluster-Units above the delegation limit of 8.000 EUR and 5.000 EUR, from end to end

• advices for contract supplement procedures and facilitates according to requirements

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• BA Degree within the field of procurement or logistic and supply chain management or operations management, or similar

Professional experience

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant occupational experience.

Other knowledge, additional competencies

• Outstanding working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g., MS Office)

• Very good knowledge of the English language
