Duration of Contract: For 1 month, with the possibility of extension.

Salary: Based on the Institute contract payment scale

Report to: Infectious Diseases Research Directorate, EPHI

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out data collection, maintain data quality, conduct data cleaning, transcribe the data, and prepare a daily summary report of the daily collected data. 

  • quantitative and qualitative data analysis, interpreting and reporting of findings

  • Maintain and monitor the data collection process and adjust the system to operational activities’ needs with continued support

  • Analysis, interpretation, management, and ability to test and implement modifications and enhancements; and communicate and train staff on data collection, management, and analysis

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Excellent active listening, writing, and observation skills.

  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with interviewees.

  • Work with the entire team to ensure the safety of the data stored in the electronic tracking system and exported to a backup flash drive. 

Required skill

Conduct In-Depth Interviews:

  • Able to Plan and conduct in-depth interviews with high-level stakeholders, including government officials and policymakers.

  • Establish rapport with interviewees and create a comfortable, open, honest dialogue environment.

  • Actively listen and probe for deeper insights.

  • Accurately document interview responses, including verbatim quotes and observations.

Gather Qualitative Data:

  • Collect qualitative data through various methods, including interviews, focus group discussions, participant observation, and document analysis.

  • Design and administer questionnaires.

  • Analyze qualitative data using appropriate techniques.

Ensure Data Quality:

  • Maintain meticulous records of all data collection activities.

  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical considerations throughout the data collection process.

Reports:

  • Summarize and synthesize qualitative data findings.

  • Contribute to the preparation of research reports and presentations.

  • Communicate research findings to relevant stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • MPH/MSc in the fields of Public Health or related, and having of 6+ years demonstrated experiences in designing and executing quantitative study and analyzing the data

  • Proven experience in conducting qualitative research, including in-depth interviews and focus group discussions.

  • Experience in impact evaluation studies 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Experience and training in the area of Monitoring and Evaluation of public health intervention/program 

  • Experience and training in quantitative and qualitative data collection
