Background
Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) is a national organization mandated to manage, build research capacity, and promote and strengthen public health research activities in the country. The institute also conducts a nationwide comprehensive health-related data synthesis of evidence that is relied on for public health-related decision-making. EPHI, in collaboration with MOH, is planning to conduct an impact assessment on the Ethiopian Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (EFEELTP).
As part of implementing the study, EPHI would like to announce a vacancy for competent and interested individuals for the following posts. The qualified individual will work in collaboration with an Infectious Disease Research Directorate member.
Position: Qualitative Data Analyst
Required Number ----one
Duration of Contract: For 1 month, with the possibility of extension.
Salary: Based on the Institute contract payment scale
Report to: Infectious Disease Research Directorate, EPHI
Keep data submitted from the fieldwork, transcribe, translate, and analyze using software for qualitative data analysis (NVivo, ATLAS. ti.), write the final report, and present and submit on approval.
Conceptualized and managed nationally representative multisite complex Evaluation studies.
Conduct coordinating, coaching, and supervising the field team, ensuring data quality, conducting data cleaning, and interpreting and reporting findings.
Maintain and monitor the data collection process and adjust the system to operational activities’ needs with continued support
Conduct direct supervision of the field staff at the site level.
Oversee daily site activities and ensure the study is conducted per the protocol guidelines.
Prepare weekly reports and update the project progress to the central office at EPHI.
Work with the site Data collectors and another team to ensure the safety of the data stored in the electronic tracking system.
Conduct data management and transmission
PhD/above in public health, and have demonstrated experience designing and executing qualitative studies and analyzing qualitative data, technical reports, and manuscript writing 6+ for PhD.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Proficiency in qualitative data analysis software.
Knowledge of research ethics and data confidentiality.
Experience in organizing and managing capacity-building workshops and training sessions.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Experience in the area of Monitoring and Evaluation and/or Impact assessment.
Having qualitative data analysis experiences and software licenses like NVivo and ATLAS and utilizing for the data analysis and report writing
Having prior experience in coordinating, designing, implementing, and reporting qualitative research.
Demonstrated experience in providing training on the qualitative research method
Demonstrated experience in conducting, transcription, and report writing of data collected in in-depth/key informant interviews and focus group discussions.
Excellent data organization, programming, communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team setting are required
Profound knowledge and experience in conducting qualitative surveys including, development of the survey tools, training research staff, supervising and writing analytical reports, as well as interpreting data and making recommendations;
