Job Description

The Trade Marketing Manager at East African National Distribution Share Company (EAND S.C.) A subsidiary of East African Holding SC. is responsible for developing and executing trade marketing strategies that drive product visibility, retail engagement, and sales performance across key channels. The role ensures that trade initiatives are aligned with brand goals and sales targets. The manager will coordinate closely with both the sales and marketing teams to develop in-store activations, retail promotions, and channel-specific campaigns that enhance product availability, visibility, and brand equity.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1.Trade Marketing Strategy Development:
•    Design and implement trade marketing strategies tailored to various distribution channels.
•    Align trade marketing plans with brand positioning and overall marketing strategies.
•    Conduct regular market analysis to understand channel needs, shopper behavior, and market opportunities.
2. Promotion Planning and Execution:
•    Develop and execute retail promotions, discounts, and incentives for channel partners and retailers.
•    Coordinate product visibility efforts including POS displays, in-store branding, and promotional merchandise.
•    Collaborate with the sales team to roll out promotions and monitor effectiveness.
3. Retailer Engagement:
•    Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and trade partners.
•    Support the sales team with trade-related materials and resources to strengthen retail presence.
•    Conduct trade visits to evaluate in-store execution and gather feedback.
4. Channel Performance Monitoring:
•    Track trade marketing initiatives and measure ROI using KPIs such as sell-through rates, retailer participation, and sales uplift.
•    Prepare regular performance reports and make recommendations for improvement.
•    Maintain a database of trade programs and results.
5. Brand Visibility and Merchandising:
•    Ensure consistent and impactful brand representation across all retail touchpoints.
•    Supervise the development and distribution of merchandising materials.
•    Conduct training for field teams and merchandisers on brand guidelines and display standards.
6. Coordination with Internal Teams:
•    Work with the Marketing Manager and Sales team to ensure alignment between brand campaigns and trade activities.
•    Liaise with Supply Chain and Logistics for product availability during trade promotions.
•    Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting and trade spend control.
7. Budget Management:
•    Plan and manage the trade marketing budget effectively.
•    Monitor expenses and ensure cost-efficiency across trade programs.
•    Provide monthly budget reports and forecasts.
8. Market Intelligence and Reporting:
•    Gather and report market intelligence from field visits, customer feedback, and sales trends.
•    Identify opportunities for channel expansion, pricing optimization, and competitor activity.
•    Provide insights to support decision-making across sales and marketing functions.

Job Requirements

Education:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
•    A Master’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration is preferred.
Experience:
•    A minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a marketing management role.
•    Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies in the cement, construction materials, or related industries.
•    Experience in digital marketing, brand management, and product marketing.
•    Strong understanding of market research, customer segmentation, and analytics
Knowledge, Skills, Competence:

•    Strong understanding of retail marketing and distribution models.
•    Excellent planning, execution, and analytical skills.
•    Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage field teams.
•    Strong communication and negotiation skills with external partners.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and marketing analysis tools.
•    Adaptable, creative, and performance-driven mindset.
