About the Program
The Mastercard Foundation in partnership with Hybrid Designs and its consortium partners- ICog, R& D Group and Qua Qua Capitals as well as D & T Ethiopia Management Consulting PLC are launching a five- year program entitled ‘Entrepreneurship in the Digital and Gig Economy (EDGE)’ with the aim of unlocking over 300,000 dignified and fulfilling employment opportunities for economically disadvantaged young people across Ethiopia through an innovative digitally enabled and mediated domestic outsourcing market and enabling a thriving offshore outsourcing ecosystem. This program will be scaling five outsourcing platform (digital) enabled products for both the offshore and onshore market that will empower young women and vulnerable groups. The program will also support 1,041 MSEs across Ethiopia to streamline their internal processes and organizational excellence to expand and grow their business, which will contribute to the development of a pipeline of competitive outsourcing enterprises that will serve and take advantage of the outsourcing market, both locally and globally. Through the ecosystem level collaboration with key strategic partners such as the IT park and the Ethiopian Outsourcing Association, the program anticipates contributing to the development of a strong outsourcing ecosystem, which will enable system level changes and position Ethiopia as an attractive outsourcing destination. The program will work to transform the outsourcing ecosystem to better serve the needs of financially disadvantaged young women and men. The program anticipates achieving its goals through its three interconnected program components which include i) Enhancing youth awareness in outsourcing and skill development; ii) Enterprise development and iii) Improving enabling environment through ecosystem Support. Through these interventions, the program will contribute to the achievement of the goals of the Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy, Ethiopia’s country roadmap and country success story by the end of the program period and beyond

Short Description of the Position
This Regional Field Coordinator position is crucial for the success of the EDGE program, specifically in facilitating the recruitment, awareness raising sessions, training and placement of young women in outsourcing and gig work opportunities, while also providing essential support to enterprises within designated regions. By fostering strong regional partnerships with key regional stakeholders and ensuring efficient program delivery, this role directly contributes to empowering women economically and strengthening local economies.
The Regional field Coordinator will work closely with the regional coordinator at the program management office level and program staffs to manage and execute regional program activities. This includes the coordination of the different aspects of the program including recruiting young people, facilitating awareness sessions , training programs, supporting enterprise development initiatives as needed for the different products supported in the program, actively engaging with regional government stakeholders, facilitating collaborations with universities/TVETs, and overseeing the logistical and operational aspects of different program activities within their assigned region.
Regional Operational Support:
• Support program implementation and coordination at the region level
• Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to regional office.
• Manage and maintain accurate program specific regional data entry, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to regional stakeholders such as government agencies, higher institutes and program participants, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Coordinate logistical support for regional level program events, meetings, and training sessions.
• Support the implementation of regional projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the regional coordinator.
• Coordinate the procurement of regional resources and materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
• Assist in the implementation of regional awareness raising strategies to achieve program objectives.
• Conduct thorough market research to identify regional trends.
• Support the organization of regional awareness raising events and campaigns
• Maintain accurate and organized regional program implementation records and documentation.
• Generate regular reports on regional program performance, highlighting key achievements and challenges.
• Assist in the preparation of regional budgets and financial forecasts.
Program office Liaison and Communication:
• Serve as the primary point of contact between regional working spaces and program management office, facilitating seamless communication and information flow.
• Disseminate critical information, policy updates, and procedural guidelines from program management office to regional staff.
• Convey regional feedback, requests, and concerns to program office, ensuring timely resolution.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on regional activities, performance, and challenges to program management office.
Policy and Procedure Compliance:
• Ensure strict adherence to the program’s and Funding Partner policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements within the designated region.
• Stay informed about regional laws, regulations, and industry best practices relevant to the EDGE program operations and report changes that would affect program outcomes.
• Conduct assessments to ensure regional compliance and mitigate potential risks.
Stakeholder Relationship Management:
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key regional stakeholders, including government agencies, community-based organizations, higher education institutes and enterprise and individual program participants.
• Represent the program at relevant regional meetings, conferences, and events, fostering positive public relations.
• Collaborate with regional partners to develop and implement joint initiatives that will contribute to the achievement of the EDGE program’s goal
Competencies
Required Academic Qualifications and Experience
MA degree in Project management, business administration, or a related fields
Minimum 8 years of experience in regional operations, administration, or a related field.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong understanding of regional business practices and cultural norms.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
