Purpose of the Position:

The Welder-Fitter Mechanic-II is responsible for fitting and welding in different position using electric, gas, arc, TIG or other welding equipment.  He is  assembles and installs pipe systems, pipe supports& related hydraulic/ pneumatic equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Read work orders and review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.

• Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, Prepares lay out, positions, using squares straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler, measuring tapes, cutting equipment and measure dimensions

• Analyze sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations

• Layout and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure specifications are met

• Able to cut work piece, using power saws, hand shears, or grinding machine

• Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper and precision measuring instruments

• Observe test on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic/pressure test, x-ray test, and dimension tolerance to evaluate the weld quality and conformance to specifications

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Education: At least a TVET Diploma in General Mechanics or related fields.

• Experience: 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a busy manufacturing setting or equivalent, and welding experience is a must.

• Languages: Full proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
