Job Description
Purpose of the Position:
The Welder-Fitter Mechanic-II is responsible for fitting and welding in different position using electric, gas, arc, TIG or other welding equipment. He is assembles and installs pipe systems, pipe supports& related hydraulic/ pneumatic equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Read work orders and review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.
Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, Prepares lay out, positions, using squares straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler, measuring tapes, cutting equipment and measure dimensions
Analyze sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations
Layout and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure specifications are met
Able to cut work piece, using power saws, hand shears, or grinding machine
Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper and precision measuring instruments
Observe test on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic/pressure test, x-ray test, and dimension tolerance to evaluate the weld quality and conformance to specifications
Job Requirements
Requirements:
Education: At least a TVET Diploma in General Mechanics or related fields.
Experience: 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a busy manufacturing setting or equivalent, and welding experience is a must.
Languages: Full proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
