Premier Switch Solutions S.C. (PSS) is a leading Electronic Payment Processing Company, established by major private banks of Ethiopia. The Company has implemented the first multi-institution shared-switch infrastructure to provide its member banks with a state-of-the-art payment technology to drive ATM, POS, e-commerce, Mobile Banking and other payment channels and provide clearing of Debit/Credit card transactions for the banks. Currently, PSS has vacant position stated below and would like to invite applicants who meet the qualification and required experience listed for this job. 

Main Duties & responsibilities

•  The job holder is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of middleware solutions and system integrations across internal platforms and third-party services. 

• role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless data and service interoperability while maintaining high availability and performance of middleware systems, and supporting database-related operations when required.

•  Administer, configure, and monitor middleware platforms (e.g., Oracle Fusion Middleware, WS02, Apache, etc.).

•  Design, implement, and maintain system integration solutions with both internal and external systems (e.g., payment switches, APIs, core banking systems).

•  Troubleshoot and resolve middleware and integration issues in a timely manner.

•  Develop and manage APIs, data mapping, and service orchestration.

•  Collaborate with software developers, infrastructure teams, application management and vendors for effective system interfacing.

•   Maintain documentation of all integration processes and middleware configurations.

•   Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

•  Provide technical support and participate in system upgrades and patch management.

•   Monitor system performance, perform capacity planning, and proactively tune systems for optimal performance.

•  Support database operations such as monitoring, backup, restoration, user management, and performance tuning as needed.

•   Assist in database upgrade or migration activities, particularly with integration points.

•  Participate in disaster recovery planning and business continuity efforts related to integration services.

•  Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor/ the company.

Job Requirements

Qualification & Work Experience required 

•   Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

•   Minimum four (4) years of relevant experience in systems integration and middleware administration.

•  Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, APIs (REST/SOAP), and data exchange formats (JSON, XML).

•  Hands-on experience with one or more middleware platforms (e.g., WebLogic, WebSphere, MuleSoft, Apache, WS02).

• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (Shell, Python, etc.).

• Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL skills.

•  Experience working in financial services or regulated environments is a plus.

•  Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
