Job Description
The Ethiopian Forestry Development (EFD) has been actively implementing forest-related activities to create new productive forests, restore degraded areas, and ensure the sustainable management of natural forests
Among others the goal of the EFD's activities are to foster the development of a resilient and inclusive private sector ecosystem that promotes sustainable management and equitable marketing of forest products, significantly increase sector's contribution to the national economy creates green jobs and reduces poverty while enhancing biodiversity conservation and flow of environmental services and goods to better adapt to and mitigate climate change which will particularly benefit local communities thereby contributing to poverty reduction, environmental conservation and economic growth in Ethiopia
Hence, EFD aimed at enhancing the sustainable marketing of Ethiopia's forest products such as round wood, tree seedling production, gum and resin, honey and other ofrest products and briquettes. To successfully implement this project, we are seeking a highly motivated and qualified coordinator for the following sites:

Title: Coordinator
Duty Station(One Coordinator required per each woreda): Amibara (Afar Regional State), Assela and Adama (Oromia Regional State), Dessie Zuria and Kombolcha (Amhara Regional State), Bodaley (Somali Regional State), Endamohoni (Tigray Regional State), Sodo Gurage (Central Ethiopia Regional State)
Expected Starting Date: Immediately
Expected Duration: 12 Months with possible extension
Salary: Negotiable
Develop and implement marketing strategies for sustainable timber, non-timber forest products and agricultural products
Engage stakeholders, including local communities, producers and financial institutions to ensure successful project execution
Conduct market assessments to analyse demand, competition and opportunities for forest and agricultural products
Provides training to local producers on best practices for production, packaging and marketing
Organize producers' cooperatives or small/medium enterprises
Support planning, implementation and reporting of Market System Development (MSD) activities for timber, non-timber products, and other agricultural gods
Institutional Arrangement:
The coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the relevant woreda forest development office head, national project coordinator and deputy general director at Ethiopian Forest Development (EFD)

Required Number: 1
A minimum of 6 years of professional experience for a Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of experience for a Master's in the field Forest Economics, Agricultural Economics Forest Management, Land Resource Management and Project Planning and Management from a recognized university
Expereince in profit-making in agriculture and forestry sector
