Job Summary:

We are seeking a mission-driven Product Owner to lead the delivery of Tourba's technology and platform solutions in Ethiopia. This role will be pivotal in ensuring that our digital tools meet the evolving needs of Ethiopian farmers and ranchers as they transition to sustainable, climate-smart agriculture.
The Product Owner will translate agronomic and business needs into actionable development requirements, prioritize product features, and collaborate closely with internal developers, agronomists, and global product leads.
This is a high-impact role for an entrepreneurial, analytical, and agile thinker with a passion for technology and climate innovation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Product Delivery & User Story Development

• Understand and synthesize business and user needs into clear, actionable user stories using the INVEST methodology.

• Define acceptance criteria and ensure rigorous user acceptance testing (UAT) prior to all production releases.

• Prioritize features based on user impact, technical feasibility, and strategic alignment.

2. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Act as the primary interface between the agronomy, business, and technical teams.

• Maintain a well-groomed product backlog and ensure clear, continuous communication on development progress.

• Gather, classify, and integrate user feedback into product iterations.

3. Data Ownership & Quality Assurance

• Analyze and anticipate data issues that could impact product performance.

• Regularly evaluate the quality of data generated and ensure it aligns with project goals.

• Resolve issues efficiently with minimal external intervention.

4. Optional (Preferred) Competencies

• Experience in using data to generate product KPIs and user behavior reports.

• Familiarity with carbon credit mechanisms, digital agriculture, or climate-smart innovations.

Job Requirements

Experience & Background:

• 2–4 years of experience in product ownership, digital platform development, or business analysis.

• Prior work in high-growth or impact-driven organizations (startups, agritech, or climate tech preferred).

Education:

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

Technical & Domain Knowledge:

• Fluency in Agile and Scrum methodologies.

• Strong understanding of UX best practices.

• Proven ability to document deliverables and lead sprints effectively.

Attitude & Soft Skills:

• Entrepreneurial spirit and strong sense of ownership.

• Highly collaborative with excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Open to feedback and driven by continuous improvement.

Language:

• Fluency in English required.

• French proficiency is an advantage.
