Job Description
Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC (KGM) is a subsidiary of Allied Gold Corp, a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, with mining operations in multiple countries including Ethiopia, Mali, and Côte d'Ivoire. KGM holds a Large-Scale Gold Mining License and three contiguous Exploration Licenses for its Ethiopian project. These licenses are located in western Ethiopia, approximately 750 km from Addis Ababa and about 90 km northwest of Assosa, in the Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State. KGM is currently engaged in both mine development and exploration activities at the site.
JOB TITLE: SENIOR GEOLOGIST
KGM is searching for a Senior Geologist with a minimum of 8 years of experience in production geology support and services as designated by the Superintendent Geology, who’s duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Planning:
Developing the capabilities of ore extraction activities including-
Perform instructions from Corporate Data Base and QAQC Manager to ensure the safe, timely, and effective execution of daily production targets according to A-Gold standards.
Ensure validity, quality and consistency of all activities and all data including the reporting preparation/transmission.
Ensure QAQC samples are in place and maintained in a clear and timely manner for samples submission according to the standards schedule.
Technical:
Developing and maintaining standards for the Mine Geology Department, through on-the-job supervision, coaching and mentoring.
Ensuring data manipulations are carried out as per standard procedures.
Supervising all data entries and manipulation and validation with staff.
Maintaining day to day liaison with Laboratory Analysts.
Supervising the Production Geologists and Rompad teams.
Ensuring proper transmission of all data to Senior Mine geologist and complete all reports.
Develop own knowledge and abilities.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company policies and practices.
Liaise with other and carry out assigned responsibilities and tasks in pursuit of quality, cost, and achievement of production targets
Working Conditions
Work involves a camp-based role at the Kurmuk Gold Mine site with a set work schedule on a 6/2 work rotation.
Work consists of a high degree of social interaction with employees in person.
Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
Progressive experience as a production or ore control geologist, preferably open pit at remote sites in Africa (8+ years preferred)
Mining software experience
Experience in a broad range of mineral deposits is considered an asset
Be in possession of an international driver’s licence.
