Job Description
CEFA (European Committee for Training and Agriculture) is a Non-Government Organization whose headquarter is in Bologna, Italy (www.cefaonlus.it). CEFA mainly works in the following areas:
Rural economy through the production, transformation and commercialization of agricultural products;
Crafting products;
Basic infrastructures to ensure water access, environmental protection, and use of renewable energies;
Technical management, agricultural training and agricultural input provision.
In Ethiopia, CEFA is registered since April 2018. Our main mission in Ethiopia is to ensure economic empowerment for women and youth living in rural areas and to offer sustainable opportunities for farmers.
Name of the project: WORK2gether: “Working together for sustainable employment and agricultural development in Ethiopia”
The project aims to promote access to education, decent employment, stable income sources, food security, and sustainable agricultural practices for women, youth, and small-scale farmers in Ethiopia, by analyzing and addressing the root causes of irregular migration (SDG 4, SDG 2, SDG 8, SDG 10).
The project will be implemented in consortia with other international and local NGOs.
CEFA is looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager with strong cross-cutting competences in agriculture and food security to lead and coordinate the implementation of the WORK2gether project. The Project Manager will ensure the effective planning, coordination, monitoring and reporting of project activities, guaranteeing alignment with donor requirements, CEFA internal procedures, and national policies.
PROJECT COORDINATION
Lead the overall implementation of the project, ensuring timely and quality delivery of activities in line with the workplan and logframe.
Coordinate and supervise the project team and ensure synergy among technical sectors (agriculture, livelihoods, food security).
Facilitate collaboration with partners, stakeholders and local authorities.
Ensure that project activities are aligned with national policies and strategies in agriculture and rural development.
TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP
Provide technical guidance and oversight in agricultural and food security interventions, promoting sustainable practices and climate-smart solutions.
Ensure gender-sensitive and inclusive approaches, especially for women and youth engagement.
Oversee the identification and promotion of income-generating activities and employment opportunities for target beneficiaries.
MONITORING, REPORTING AND ADMINISTRATION
Support the MEAL team in designing and implementing monitoring tools and systems to track progress against indicators.
Prepare internal and external narrative reports according to CEFA and donor formats.
Monitor budget utilization in coordination with the project accountant and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
Support procurement and tender processes as per CEFA and donor regulations.
REPRESENTATION AND COMMUNICATION
Represent CEFA in project-related coordination meetings with local government offices, donors, and partners.
Promote visibility of the project through communication materials and field visits.
Ensure documentation of lessons learned and best practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Master's degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Food Security, International Development or related fields.
At least 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in international NGOs and with donor-funded programs.
Proven experience in managing projects in agriculture, food security, livelihoods, or rural development.
Previous experience working in consortium projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination abilities.
Good knowledge of project cycle management and donor regulations (AICS experience is a plus).
Fluent in English and Amharic and Oromiffa
Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, project management tools).
Strong analytical and reporting skills.
