Tamra for Social Development Organization (TSD) is an indigenous civil society organization that has been implementing community development programs for over 27 years across Oromia, Addis Ababa, Sidama, Central Ethiopia, and South Ethiopia regions. The organization is currently seeking qualified and motivated candidates for the following position:

4. Position: Waste for Value Project Officer

  • Job Grade: G2 S7

  • Location: Wolayta Sodo

  • Employment Type: Full-Time

  • Reports To: Regional Manager (with functional reporting to Regional Thematic Officers)

  • Salary: Negotiable

  • Number Required: 1

Role Summary: The Waste for Value Project Officer (Social Worker) will deliver community support services, lead awareness and advocacy initiatives, and implement innovative waste management practices. The role also includes training, mobilization, and counseling to promote community well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct needs assessments and develop community-based programs.

  • Coordinate activities, volunteers, and logistical arrangements.

  • Lead awareness campaigns and training sessions.

  • Monitor project progress and compile reports.

  • Promote sustainable and community-driven solutions.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BA/MSc in Social Work, Project Management, Public Health, Development Studies, or related fields.

  • 4/2 years of relevant experience as a Project Officer or Social Worker, preferably in NGOs.

  • Strong skills in planning, budgeting, and communication.

  • Fluency in English, Amharic, and Wolaytegna is required.

  • Prior experience in Wolayta Zone is highly desirable.
