Job Description

Tamra for Social Development Organization (TSD) is an indigenous civil society organization that has been implementing community development programs for over 27 years across Oromia, Addis Ababa, Sidama, Central Ethiopia, and South Ethiopia regions. The organization is currently seeking qualified and motivated candidates for the following position

Position: Woreda-Level Integrated Project Officer

  • Job Grade: G3 S4

  • Location: Hawassa Zuria and Wondo Genet Woredas

  • Employment Type: Full-Time

  • Reports To: Area Coordinator, Hawassa (with functional reporting to Regional Thematic Officers)

  • Salary: Negotiable

  • Number Required: 2

The Project Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating projects at the woreda level. The role includes field coordination, logistics, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and report preparation to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project design, planning, budgeting, and assessments.

  • Oversee implementation and coordinate local stakeholders.

  • Supervise interns and volunteers in each kebele.

  • Monitor project progress and submit timely reports.

  • Ensure compliance with donor and organizational standards.

  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing and capacity building.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BA/MSc in Project Management, Public Health, Social Work, Development Studies, or related fields.

  • 4/2 years of proven experience in similar roles, preferably in NGOs.

  • Experience in planning, budgeting, and risk management.

  • Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills.

  • Fluency in English, Amharic, and Sidamu Afoo is required.

  • Experience in Sidama Region is highly desirable.
