Tamra for Social Development Organization (TSD) is an indigenous civil society organization that has been implementing community development programs for over 27 years across Oromia, Addis Ababa, Sidama, Central Ethiopia, and South Ethiopia regions. The organization is currently seeking qualified and motivated candidates for the following position:
1. Position: Youth Empowerment and Peacebuilding Thematic Officer
Job Grade: G3-S4
Location: Shashemene Regional Office
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Regional Program Coordinator (with functional reporting to the Thematic Coordinator)
Salary: Negotiable

Role Summary: The Thematic Officer is responsible for coordinating youth empowerment and peacebuilding initiatives at the regional level and across the woredas under the regional office. Key duties include planning, implementation, monitoring, stakeholder engagement, report compilation, and ensuring alignment with TSD’s strategic goals. The officer will closely collaborate with the Head Office Thematic Coordinator to ensure program quality and consistency.
Coordinate thematic activities in the regional office and woredas.
Facilitate trainings, youth forums, and community peace dialogues.
Build partnerships with local stakeholders and support youth groups.
Monitor activities and submit reports to the Regional Program Coordinator.
Promote TSD’s safeguarding, gender, and inclusion policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
MA/BA in Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, Youth Development, Sociology, or related fields.
3/5 years of relevant experience, preferably with an NGO in a thematic, project, or program coordination role.
Strong facilitation and training skills, particularly with youth.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
Fluency in English and Amharic; Afaan Oromo and Sidamu Afoo are required.
Experience in Oromia and Sidama regions is an advantage.
