Job Description
Organization for social service, health and Development (OSSHD) previously known by OSSA is the first and pioneer organization in fight against HIV and AIDS in Ethiopia. It was established in 1990 by religious organizations, international agencies and cooperation of the national ministry of health with the overall goal of contributing to the national effort of prevention and control of the spread of HVI/AIDS. Since 2016, OSSHD shifted to focus on the diverse introduction of programmatic areas such as SRH, Prevention of gender-based violence (GBV), Water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), Harm reduction, Maternal Neonatal and child Health (MNCH), Treatment-t of NTDs and livelihood.
Under overall guidance and direct supervision of the Branch Manager, the Field office Project accountant will be responsible for discharging the all following administration and finance functions for the implementation of the projects/grants in the respective branches/field offices.
Oversee the overall financial and administrative management of the projects/grants at regional level,
Maintain complete set of books of account according to the principle of accounting and update it on daily basis.
Follow up on the activities and monitor advance balances of resource disbursed, verify availability of funds for program activities and recommend for changes in budget line if needed.
Prepare and submit periodic financial reports for submission to OSSHD HO;
Provide support to prepare annual and quarterly work plans and budgets in consultation with Branch Manager and Program Staff;
Conduct analysis of program budget allocation and expenditure from a gender and social inclusion perspective under the guidance of the Branch Manager;
Oversee the financial and administrative management of district programs and implementing partners, including internal audit (if needed);
Prepare monthly shadow budget report for tracking the delivery of the program;
Ensure the compliance of all the provisions of guidelines regarding personnel management, procurement, sub contract and financial management;
Keep records on non-expendable equipment (NEE), conduct physical verification at least once a year and prepare annual physical verification report of NEE to be submitted to OSSHD’S Branch Manager;
Manage all correspondence related to administration and finance;
Oversee the usage and maintenance of all equipment including vehicles;
Carry out any other related responsibility assigned by the Branch Manager and support other activities as required.

Education
BA degree in Accounting and Finance or related field of study
Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience preferably in development organizations.

Competence in MS Office
Excellent interpersonal skills – builds good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Good command of verbal and written communication skills in English and Amharic
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize self and others
Ability to manage a complex and demanding workload with flexible behavior
