Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to lead the sales team and drive the success of the Agricultural Machinery Dealership under Kerchanshe Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agricultural machinery sales, particularly in the tractor industry. As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading the team, setting sales targets, conducting market research, determining product pricing, and ensuring the growth of McCormick tractor sales in Ethiopia, Djibouti, and South Sudan. The role requires excellent leadership, strategic planning, and customer relationship management skills to elevate the dealership’s presence in the market.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

    Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, manage, and mentor the sales team, setting clear targets and driving them to achieve both individual and collective goals

  • Cultivate a high-performance, motivated sales culture through continuous coaching and professional development

    Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify opportunities, analyses competitors, and understand customer needs and preferences in the agricultural machinery sector.

  • Continuously monitor market trends, customer demands, and competitor strategies to adjust sales tactics and stay ahead in the market

    Sales Strategy and Pricing:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve business growth, focusing on expanding McCormick tractor sales in the target regions.

  • Determine competitive pricing structures based on market trends, customer needs, and profitability goals.

    Sales Performance Ownership:

  • Take full responsibility for the department’s sales performance, implementing corrective actions when necessary to drive improvement.

  • Regularly evaluate sales data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met.

    Team Development:

  • Recruit, train, and onboard new sales staff, ensuring they are equipped with the tools, product knowledge, and skills necessary to succeed.

  • Provide ongoing training and development to existing team members, ensuring alignment with product offerings and customer service standards.

    Customer Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, dealers, and partners in the agricultural machinery sector.

  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs, offer solutions, and close sales deals effectively.

    Collaboration with Other Departments:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align sales strategies with promotional activities, ensuring maximum visibility and engagement.

  • Work closely with the operations and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and availability of McCormick tractors and spare parts.

    Inventory and Order Management

  • Oversee the product ordering process, inventory management, and ensure the smooth logistics of equipment deliveries.

  • Maintain strong coordination with the purchasing team to manage stock levels and ensure product availability

    Industry Networking and Representation:

  • Represent McCormick tractors at industry events, trade shows, expos, and business fairs to increase brand visibility and build partnerships.

  • Foster relationships with key decision-makers in the agricultural sector to unlock new business opportunities.

    Sales Reporting and Feedback:

  • Provide regular sales performance reports and market analysis to senior management.

  • Use feedback from customers and market trends to adjust strategies and enhance the dealership’s competitiveness.

Job Requirements

Qualification 

  • BA or MA degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the sales of agricultural machinery or related industries, with a proven track record in leading sales teams and driving results.

  • At least 2 years of experience in a management position, demonstrating strong leadership and team management skills

    6. Logistics and Inventory Management

  •     Knowledge of inventory management processes and coordination with operations and logistics teams to ensure product availability
