Job Description
The job holder is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, integrity, and compliance of the capital markets within the jurisdiction authority.
Overseeing the activities of capital market participants, such as securities exchanges, brokers, dealers, investment advisors, and capital market participants to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards
Identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities within the capital markets, assessing their potential impact, and implementing measures to mitigate and manage those risks effectively
Inspect pre and post offering activities of public companies
Monitoring market activities and behaviours to detect any signs of market manipulation, insider trading, fraud, and other illicit activities that could undermine market integrity
Ensuring that investors are provided with accurate information and are treated fairly by market participants; involves monitoring disclosures, investor complaints, and taking actions against any misconduct
Maintaining accurate records, generating reports, and communicating regulatory updates to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, industry participants, and the public
Analyze trade data to identify unusual trading patterns, potential market manipulation, and insider trading
Utilizing data analysis tools to identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks within the capital market; make informed decisions and adapting regulatory strategies
Perform other related work as require.
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or above in BAIS (Business Administration and Information System), Economics, Management, Accounting and Finance, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, technology/ computer science or a field related to the Job function from an Accredited or recognized learning institution.
2 years of relevant working experience.

What We Do
Ethiopian Capital Market Authority is established by Capital Market Proclamation No 1248/2021 as an autonomous Federal Regulatory Authority. One of the major objectives of ECMA is to ensure the existence of a capital market environment in which securities can be issued and traded in an orderly, fair, and efficient manner. ECMA, as a regulatory authority, grants licenses to any person to operate as a security exchange, derivative exchange, security depository and clearing company, capital market service provider, over-the-counter trading facility, or any other activity deemed by ECMA as a regulated activity under its jurisdiction. ECMA regulates and oversees trading in primary and secondary markets of securities, the use of electronic trading platforms that deal with securities and gives recognition and oversees the activities of self-regulatory organizations.
