Job Description
The Senior Grant Development Officer is responsible for leading the identification, cultivation, and securing of funding from diverse sources to support Green Scene Energy PLC's projects and initiatives. This role involves leading the development and submission of complex grant proposals, building and maintaining relationships with major donors, and securing other forms of financing, including loans and investments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful grant writing, strong project management skills, and experience in financial resource mobilization.
Identify potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, international organizations, and other sources, with a focus on securing significant funding for large-scale projects.
Develop and implement comprehensive grant development strategies to maximize funding acquisition and align with organizational priorities.
Lead the preparation and submission of high-quality, complex grant proposals, ensuring compliance with all guidelines, requirements, and donor expectations.
Write compelling narratives, develop detailed budgets and models, and gather necessary documentation for grant applications.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective major donors, including foundations, government agencies, and international organizations.
Represent Green Scene Energy PLC at meetings, conferences and other events related to grant opportunities and donor relations.
Collaborate with program staff and technical experts to gather information for proposals and ensure project alignment with funding priorities.
Manage the grant application process, including proposal tracking, submission, and follow-up with funders.
Oversee the development of grant reporting and compliance processes, ensuring accurate and timely submission of reports to funders.
Mentor and provide guidance to other grant staff, as needed.
Stay up-to-date on funding trends, best practices in grant development, and changes in donor priorities.
Identify and pursue opportunities for loans, investments, and other forms of financing to support Green Scene Energy PLC's projects and initiatives.
Develop and submit proposals / applications for loans, investments, and other financing and non-financing opportunities, ensuring compliance with all requirements and regulations.
Build and maintain relationships with banks, financial institutions, investors, and other potential sources of funding.
Negotiate terms and conditions for loans, investments, and other financing agreements.
Work closely with the finance department to manage and report on funding obtained through loans, investments, and grants.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as international development, business administration, or communications. A Master's degree is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in grant writing and fundraising, with a focus on securing funding from major donors.
Proven success in securing substantial grant funding from diverse sources, with a track record of leading successful grant proposals.
In-depth knowledge of grant funding processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop compelling grant proposals and presentations.
Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to identify funding opportunities and match them to organizational needs.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
