Name of the project: ‘Farm for the future- Modern and Sustainable Agriculture for the rural families in Ethiopia” FM 188/21

The project initiative aims to support the reduction of malnutrition and under nutrition rates and to increase food security and sovereignty among the population living in the rural areas of the Wolaitta Zone. 

The project will be implemented in consortia with other local Ngo.

CEFA is looking for One (1) motivated community animator to support small scale most vulnerable farmers/families so as to improve the foundation of their future development. The community animator will work under the supervision of the Area coordinator. All the following tasks will be carried out in collaboration and under the supervision and responsibility of the Area coordinator.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordination and close collaboration with the area coordinator; 

• Engage and facilitate all activities implemented in all three districts; 

• Participation in periodic meetings with the project team; 

• Assistance and technical support to project beneficiaries; 

• Ensure the proper beneficiary selection as per the criteria developed together with consortium organization ; 

• Supporting the project beneficiaries with a daily proximity support, with constant monitoring of the activities and the learning of the concepts transmitted during the training sessions, with ready problem solving interventions. 

• Awareness creation for farmers on improved agronomic techniques; 

• Monitoring and logistics of the workshops and seminars organized within the project, for the areas of competence; 

• Collection of documentation and information (report, attendance list, photo, material, etc.);

• Writing activity reports;

• Manage relations with local stakeholders, in particular with the relevant authorities with the selection and support of the beneficiaries; 

• Any other activity necessary for carrying out the project activities as indicated by the area coordinator.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree in agriculture or rural development.

At least 5 years of experience in field activities in agriculture development projects 

Required Competencies: 

• Fluency in local language of the Zone. Good knowledge of oral and written Amharic and English; 

• Proven team work experience; 

• Excellent knowledge of the geographical context of reference; 

• Good ability to use the Office package and Internet/mail; 

• Preferably prior work experience with other  NGOs ;

• Motorbike driving technical skill and motorbike driving license; 

• Willingness and ability to work under pressure and in difficult and isolated contexts
