Job Description
Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is an international non-profit organization mandated to work with people around the world to eradicate poverty and injustice. Guided by its vision of ‘Together for a Just World’, NCA provides humanitarian assistance and supports long-term development. NCA is affiliated with the World Council of Churches and is a member of the ACT Alliance with a presence in 31 countries worldwide.
In Ethiopia, NCA has been operating since 1974, marking 50 years of service in the country this year. NCA’s programs are implemented together with local faith-based partners. NCA is a member of various civil society networks, coordination mechanisms, and clusters in Ethiopia. In its current strategic period (2025-2029), NCA Ethiopia implements programs focused on Climate Resilient Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (CRWASH); Climate and Environment Stewardship/Economic Development and Food Security; Peacebuilding; Gender-Based Violence/Sexual/ Reproductive Health; and Humanitarian Emergency Response.
NCA has an Internship Program, offering on-the-job learning to qualified and young graduates with a particular focus on female candidates. Accordingly, applicants who fulfill the requirements are invited to apply for this opportunity.
The Intern works with the Finance team, learns and gains experience, and contributes to the preparation of financial documents, scanning, and organizing documents into digital formats, ensuring accuracy and quality. Responsibilities include operating scanning equipment, maintaining proper filing, and potentially performing administrative duties related to document management.
Length of Internship: Three months with a possibility of extension based on funding availability
Scan Financial documents and save them into computer systems.
Maintain the organization's financial documents and the filing of scanned documents.
Update the finance records and databases.
Perform finance-related administrative duties.
Check the accuracy of scanned documents.
Adherence to scanning instruction, Expectation: as outlined in the instruction provided, and be able to adapt to any changes at any given notice.
Maintain scanners for optimum performance and proper resolution of documents.
Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience Required:
Education: The ideal candidate is a recent graduate (graduated within 2023/2024) in Accounting or Finance with an average CGPA of 3.5 and above. The candidate should successfully pass the exit exam.
Technical skills: A skillset in using the Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of operating a photocopy/scanner is a plus.
Languages: Proficiency in Amharic and English is required.

Strong integrity and competence.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Sound written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
