Our company – Organic Liquid Fertilizer Producing PLC (known by the trade name "Eco Green‟) is a legal entity registered in 2008 in accordance with Commercial Registration and Business License Proclamation number 980/2008 of the FDRE. As the name indicates, the Company produces 100% ORGANIC Liquid Fertilizer which is rich in microbes, improves soil fertility, increases the productivity and quality of the crop, and significantly cuts fertilizer costs. It has been bestowed different national and international awards including, but not limited to, “Prestigious Science Innovation Award in 2007 E.C.” from the hands of the former FDRE Prime Minister H/Mariam Desalegn, “Climate Innovation Prize in 2009 E.C” from Ethiopian Climate Innovation Centre, and “The Best Entrepreneurship of the year Award in 2015 G.C.” from UNDP. Position: Junior Lab Technician

The Junior Lab Technician will support the research, development, and quality control processes of an organic liquid fertilizer company. This entry-level role involves conducting laboratory tests, preparing organic fertilizer formulations, and assisting in product development to ensure high-quality, sustainable fertilizers for agricultural use. The position is ideal for individuals passionate about organic agriculture and soil health, offering hands-on experience in a dynamic, eco-focused environment.
Sample Preparation and Analysis: Prepare and test organic liquid fertilizer samples, including raw materials (e.g., compost extracts, bio-stimulants) and finished products, using techniques such as pH testing, nutrient analysis, and microbial assays.
Quality Control Testing: Perform routine tests to verify product consistency, nutrient content (e.g., NPK levels), and compliance with organic certification standards (e.g., OMRI, USDA Organic).
Formulation Support: Assist in developing and optimizing organic fertilizer formulations by mixing ingredients, monitoring fermentation processes, and documenting outcomes under senior staff supervision.
Equipment Maintenance: Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, such as pH meters, spectrophotometers, and filtration systems, to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Data Recording and Reporting: Collect and record experimental data accurately, using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or spreadsheets, and assist in preparing basic reports for product development or quality assurance.
Inventory Management: Monitor and restock laboratory supplies, including organic raw materials, reagents, and consumables, to support uninterrupted operations.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to laboratory safety protocols, handle organic materials and chemicals safely, and follow waste disposal guidelines to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly workspace.
Sustainability Practices: Support the company‟s commitment to sustainability by minimizing waste, recycling organic by-products, and contributing to eco-friendly lab practices.
Work Environment
Location: Laboratory setting, with occasional visits to production facilities or field sites for sample collection or product testing.
Schedule: Full-time, typically 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime during product development cycles or quality audits.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Senior Lab Technician or Quality Control Manager.
Collaborates with: Product development team, production staff, and quality assurance specialists.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for data entry and reporting.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow precise instructions.

Certifications: Training in laboratory safety, organic certification standards, or quality control is beneficial but not required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, handle delicate lab equipment, and occasionally lift up to 20 kg (e.g., raw material containers).
