Overview of the Position:

This position reports directly to the Country Director (CD) and Deputy Country Director (DCD), a key country office team member.  This person is responsible for developing, nurturing, and managing strategic relationships with partners and philanthropic organizations to support the mission and goals of CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia. The role focuses on partnership development and maintaining effective partnerships, donor engagement, grant writing, and fundraising strategy implementation. He/she serves as the key interface between the organization and its development partners and other audiences, ensuring consistency across the organization’s messages and the partners.  With guidance from the CD and DCD, is responsible for fundraising activities including the development and implementation of a 3-to-5-year fundraising strategy to support and strategically advance the program’s operations financially. 

The ideal candidate is a persuasive communicator, resource mobilizer, relationship builder, and strategic thinker with a passion for social impact. This is a full-time position based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with travel to the field.

 Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 

 Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement a partnership strategy for CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia, ensuring that all personnel understand the importance of the partnership strategy and their involvement in its successful implementation.

  • Develop strategic partnership-building approaches with government, donors, civil society organizations, corporations, and other stakeholders.

  • Map, cultivate, and manage funding opportunities, grant prospects, potential donors, and potential partners, and maintain excellent relations with partners.

  • Plan and organize fundraising campaigns, donor recognition activities, and philanthropy events.

  • Create materials to support donor solicitations and meetings, including decks, reports, emails, brochures, etc.

  • Maintain a partnership database and track communications, deliverables, and opportunities.

  • Promote local philanthropy and facilitate engagements with relevant national and international stakeholders.

  • Develop and manage MOUs or partnership proposals as may arise from forged partnerships.

  • Work with the Communications Team to develop and implement publicity strategies for CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia’s operations that showcase impact and attract partners and donors.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate degree in International Development/Affairs, Communications, International Relations, Business, or other related fields

  • A master’s degree in media, marketing, or another related field is useful but not a must.

  • Experience: 3-5 years of successful experience in fundraising and partnership development with a focus on development, humanitarian assistance, human rights, social inequality, public policy, or in the communication sector.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize and manage information.

  • Ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, and Slides) and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 

  • Ability to work independently, manage their time wisely, and meet deadlines.

  •  Strong passion for community-led development, social impact, persuasive writing, and storytelling.
