Job Description
The Director of ICT is responsible for spearheading the development and execution of the organization’s digital and technological vision, ensuring seamless integration of innovative IT solutions with East African Holding’s operational and strategic objectives. This role ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of IT infrastructure across the Group and its subsidiaries—supporting critical business functions such as enterprise systems, digital transformation, and data security. By leading technology initiatives, the Director will empower the company’s growth, operational excellence, and transformation ambitions in Ethiopia and the broader Horn of Africa region.
Develop and implement the organization's IT strategy in alignment with business goals and technological advancements.
Oversee the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness, proper allocation of resources, and alignment with business priorities.
Establish and enforce IT governance frameworks, policies, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Lead digital transformation efforts, including cloud adoption, AI integration, and business process automation.
Ensure cybersecurity strategies are in place to mitigate risks, protect data, and adhere to global security standards.
Direct IT project management efforts, ensuring timely and successful implementation of technology initiatives.
Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, service providers, and executive leadership.
Oversee IT operations, ensuring high system availability, minimal downtime, and efficient service delivery.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the IT department.
Ensure IT disaster recovery, business continuity, and data protection measures are effective and regularly tested.
Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for measuring IT effectiveness and alignment with business goals.
Provide strategic guidance on emerging technologies and recommend investments that will enhance business efficiency.
Manage enterprise architecture and standardization of IT systems and platforms across the organization.
Oversee IT support services, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and user satisfaction remains high.
Required Qualification:
Education:
Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
Professional certifications in various IT fields are highly required.
Experience
10+ years of experience in IT leadership roles with expertise in enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and IT service management.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems, cloud solutions, and IT governance frameworks.
Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.
Proven experience managing enterprise-wide technology projects and budgets.
Experience in managing cross-functional IT teams and driving digital transformation initiatives.
